Is there a charge to have my event listed on the back events calendar, or for a write-up?
No: the events calendar listings are free, and the write-ups are at Heather’s discretion (no charge). If you’re planning an event, send the details to Heather and she will promote it however she thinks is most appropriate/useful.
Can I advertise in the summer (busy) season only?
Yes! For the busier months, the CV Social expands to 12 pages (rather than the usual 8). This means more space for ads, as well as more room for events-focused content.
(If enough businesses want to advertise year-round, the CV Social can remain at 12 pages to accommodate that need. That decision will be made in September/October each year.)
Is there a discount for non-profits to advertise?
No. The advertising rate is already very reasonable ($37.50+GST/issue), especially with free design work included.
What are the available ad sizes?
It depends on how much space is available in that issue. Advertisers who have been with the CV Social for longer are given first dibs at larger ads.
At this time (July 2025), only regular-size ads (roughly business card-size) ads are available.
What are the ad rates?
Regular size (2.6″ wide by 1.7″ high, roughly business-card size) = $37.50+GST per issue, so $75+GST per month
Double size (2.6″ wide by 3.4″ high) = $60+GST per issue, so $120+GST per month
The CV Social invoices monthly by email, usually just before the first of the month.
Who is able to advertise in the CV Social?
The CV Social is a Columbia Valley publication: it supports Columbia Valley based businesses, causes & organizations. Columbia Valley residents may also request advertising for their events/projects.
